Email:
Highlands email address has changed due to some recent
privacy issues with AT&T. Unfortunately a simple password and security
question change did not solve the problem; therefore, we have no choice
but to discontinue using AT&T. Please replace the old email address with
hhasti.10@gmail.com and begin using it immediately.
Board of Directors:
As you all know, Mike Sparacio had to resign as Board
President due to his busy work schedule. We were blessed to have 2
volunteers to fill the position for the remainder of the year. The 4
board members met and voted on it, and are happy to announce that our
new 2012 Board President will be Pat McCormick.
Lot Maintenance:
Now that the summer months are here, to be in
compliance with the restrictive covenants, vacant lots should be cut (at
minimum) in April, June, August, October. Please remember that in
accordance with the Restatement & Amendments dated August 1998, Article
VII Section 5 (c) 17. DITCHES AND SWALES: "Each owner shall keep
drainage ditches and swales located on his lot, free and unobstructed
and in good repair.....” Therefore, to help keep drainage ditches clean,
please cut your ditch as well.
Fishing:
We have received several notices in regards to
non-members as well as members in violation of our restrictive covenants
fishing in the lakes and trespassing on other Lots. Please remember that
the Restatement and Amendments dated August 18, 1998, pg. 5 Article IV
(e), Members’ Right of Enjoyment: states that…. “During any period of
time that a member fails to pay any assessment that is due or during any
period of time that a member violates any of the published rules and
regulations of the association, such member’s right to vote and to use
the Community Facilities shall be automatically suspended….”. Per
Article I, Definitions: (g) “Community Facilities” shall mean the common
areas and the lakes, dams and spillway Property. In addition, Article
VII Section 5c (21) pg. 13 of the same, states that “…….no guest of any
owner may utilize the Lakes without being accompanied by an authorized
Member.” Therefore, as previously outlined in the letter received with
your ID card, eligible members (current on dues and in compliance) MUST
accompany their guests due to the liability that lies with each and
every member. Non-members unaccompanied will be considered trespassers
and may be issued a summons by the sheriff’s office.
